Design Approach and Planting Structure
Archway Green created a modern landscape that complements the forward-thinking style of the development, using a wide range of shrubs, plants and trees. The overall approach focused on simplicity and structure, with bold planting blocks and straight lines working alongside the architectural features of the homes.
Trees such as Malus ‘Evereste’ were selected to provide year-round interest, with spring blossom and strong autumn colour adding seasonal variation. Compact hedging, including Prunus laurocerasus ‘Otto Luyken’, was used to create a low, dense structure with glossy green foliage, offering both visual consistency and effective screening. These evergreen shrubs establish quickly, making them suitable for providing early privacy across the development.
For borders along turf and pathways, Skimmia japonica ‘Rubella’ was introduced. This compact evergreen shrub produces dark green foliage, with red buds appearing in late winter and opening into fragrant flowers in early spring, bringing colour and detail to the planting beds.

A Clean and Cohesive Landscape Outcome
Each element was selected to support the clean and minimal character of the development, ensuring the planting works in harmony with its surroundings. The use of structured greenery and controlled planting palettes helps reinforce the strong visual identity of the site.
The result is a landscape that enhances the overall aesthetic while remaining practical and easy to maintain. The combination of evergreen structure and seasonal highlights ensures year-round interest, while the clear layout supports everyday use. Over time, as the planting matures, the scheme will continue to strengthen and provide a consistent and attractive setting for residents.
